Dune buggies are off road vehicles that are used on sand dunes or beaches. They have a wide frame and wide tires that are good for taking sharp corners and maneuvering quickly. They are typically open framed to enhance the weight to power ratio. These dune buggies are known as sandrails. Off road go carts are very similar to dune buggies. The main difference on these vehicles is the tires and the size difference. Dune buggies tend to be a little larger and more powerful. There are different types of tires that can be fitted to either vehicle. Sand was typically the most common for dune buggies, but all terrain is becoming more popular as dune buggies become more diversified.    

Go karts have evolved from the 2-stroke chainsaw engines they once had. Eventually manufacturers developed engines specially designed for go karts. A 125 cc 4-stroke engine or electric motors are used in the go karts that at theme parks. These are safer for kids to use because they are easier to control. They will usually top out at around 15-20 mph. For those who are looking for something with more speed, 2-stroke engines can reach as high as 160 mph. Off road go carts operate between 150 and 350 cc's. They require more power than smaller go karts so that they will operate properly.     

Off road go carts are safer than ATVs, all terrain vehicles. They are safer because they have a roll bar in case the vehicle flips over. They even have harness belts to wear if you plan on getting really down and dirty. ATV's don't have either of these safety features. The wheels are lifted higher than your typical go cart, so you won't have to worry about running into low lying obstacles. Families need to spend time together. The outdoors is a great place to start spending some quality time.

Off road go carts are relatively cheap compared to other all terrain vehicles. Buying used is usually a great way to save money and get experience with working on the vehicle. They can be easily worked on by following an instruction manual. Accessories such as the pedal and shifter can be swapped out and upgraded. Adults can finally feel like kids again and get to spend time with their kids.
